Hello, again! Greetings from Kentucky, The Bluegrass State! Home of Bluegrass music, bourban, coal mines and the Kentucky Derby! My parents and I are here during July 4th weekend walking through some cemetaries in Tennessee to see where some of my mom's family is buried and to see where she spent half of her childhood. It was fun! I got to see the town she lived in, the house where my ancestors lived, where my great-grandparents lived, where my grandparents' farm was and everything! It was very cool!
Currently we're back in our hotel room, complete with wi-fi! I was so excited to see that I would be able to surf the internet since our cable channel selection is limited at best. I also found out that I'm allergic to OFF! Bug Repellent, which sucks, but all in all, very cool weekend so far!

So...Where do Dinosaurs come in?
Okay, I know I promised that most of my posts would be about Wicca, but after yesterday, I had to say something.
I was raised a Christian, was even baptised when I was 14, but I've never felt comfortable with Christianity, some parts of it have never made sense to me, no matter how often I read it.
Things came to a head yesterday. I go to church with my parents once or twice a month to make my parents happy, but I've begun having issues with the sermons the minister has been giving.
My parents' minister is a retired math teacher and claims that he understands science but he continuously throws out all the evidence that's staring him in the face.
Yesterday's sermon was about Evolution, the minister basically said that Evolution was a myth created by man to get rid of God and all the evidence that proves Evolution was basically discarded as 'non-existent'. It was the first time, I'd seriously considered walking out of church in the middle of a sermon and not caring about what people thought.
So, if Evolution is a myth and the Earth is only 10,000 years old; where do dinosaurs come in? Or mastadons? Why are we finding remains that are millions of years old? Why do we share 98% of our genes with chimpanzees? Why do we have tailbones and appendices, organs that serve no purpose but can be a huge pain if something goes wrong with them? If Evolution is a myth; explain the beautiful and unusual animals of Australia and Africa. Why do giraffes have such long necks? If Evolution is a myth, why create an animal with such a long neck? Why are there such diverse species of animals? The minister tried to say that genetics disproved Evolution (if you can find the logic in that, please let me know).
I believe in Evolution, I believe that when the God and Goddess created this world, Evolution was part of the plan. I also believe that to stand there with your fingers in your ears and deny it when there is so much evidence staring at you, including the person who stares at you in the mirror, makes you a fool and delusional.
Just My Opinion.

Intro
Hi! If you're reading this, then you've somehow stumbled on this humble little blog, so I better do some introductions.
My name is Paige, I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my parents and my spoiled cat. I am 27, soon to be 28, unmarried (for now) and have recently dedicated myself to Wicca. I've been interested in Wicca since I was a teenager but only recently made the big step to actually dedicate myself, though I still attend church to appease my parents, though I strongly disagree with the stance the minister has taken on things in the news. My hobbies are: knitting, crocheting, playing the piano, reading and writing. I also enjoy professional wrestling, stand-up comedy and working on the computer.
What you can expect with this blog is my journey in Wicca from the point of view of a suburbanite. When most people think of practicing Wicca, they think of going out to the countryside, bonfires and dancing naked in trees. With the exception of being naked during my rites, I don't do any of those things. I will also have essays about aspects of Wicca, though it'll mostly deal with it in a city setting.
If you're still interested in what I have to say, then welcome!
Blessed Be
